Meet Bev Burger

A History of Dedication and Public Service

I proudly serve YOU as Alderman for Ward 1 in the City of Franklin, representing the Cool Springs area—south of Moores Lane, north of Murfreesboro Road, and east of Mack Hatcher to the city limits.

Since my election to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, I have dedicated my time to shaping Franklin’s future. I currently serve as Vice Chairman of both the Capital Investment Committee and the Sustainability Commission. My past service includes roles on the Finance and Budget Committee, the City Beer Board, and various other committees. I have also had the honor of serving twice as Vice Mayor.

In 2019, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee appointed me to the State Local Government Planning Advisory Commission, furthering my commitment and service to responsible growth and sound governance.

Professional Experience

Since 1996, I have owned and managed The Burger Group, LLC, a creative marketing and strategic planning business originally founded in Huntsville, AL.

My career also includes experience in national corporate sales, franchise publishing sales, and as a media-advertising writer and senior account manager.

Background & Education

Originally from Ohio, I’ve lived in Washington, D.C., several other states, and abroad in Japan, where I spent three years.

While studying Journalism at Kent State University, I documented the tragic Kent State shootings through photography. My photographs have been featured in numerous publications, documentaries, and history books.

Community Involvement

I bring a long-standing commitment to community service, advocacy, and civic engagement. I co-founded and directed crisis centers for women in Kentucky and Virginia and have served on numerous boards. For over 40 years, I’ve also been involved in national, state, and local political campaigns..

My past and present leadership roles include:

  • Co-Founder: Life Spring Pregnancy Centers (VA)
  • Director: Birthright (KY)/Board of Director Middle VA Pregnancy Ctrs.
  • Women's Crisis Counselor:  ( KY & VA)
  • PTA President:  Middle School / High School (AL & VA);
  • Board of Directors: Bridges Domestic Violence Center
  • Advisory Board: Davis House
  • Board of Directors: King’s Meadow Study Center
  • Vice President, Republican Women of Williamson County
  • Chairman of the Board: Franklin Clapham Group – a faith-based organization hosting symposiums, speaker series, community conversations on cultural issues from a biblical worldview.
  • Co-founder, Biscuits and Bullets – a women’s gun and shooting club

I am a 2010 graduate of Leadership Franklin and in 2014, was appointed an Ambassador for OXFAM America, working to combat poverty, hunger, and injustice worldwide.

Personal Life

My husband, Ken and I have lived in Franklin since 2003. We are active members of Parish Presbyterian PCA and supporters of the Williamson County Republican Party (WCRP), WCRP Chairman’s Circle, the Tennessee State Republican Party, and the National Republican Party.

Together, we are proud parents to three sons—Matt, Zach (Courtney), and Chris—and grandparents to Hayes, Grayson, Bennett, and Maggie.

I feel truly fortunate to live in one of the best places in the country—a state, county, and city I’m proud to call home. I enjoy staying active in the community and find joy in writing, photography, reading, golf, target shooting, and travel. Above all, my life is grounded in faith, family, friends, and a deep appreciation for the community around me.

I would be honored to earn your vote.
